Greystone dentists to give candy to troops

FROM STAFF REPORTS of the Shelby County Reporter

GREYSTONE — Two Greystone dentists are willing to trade candy for an iPod Touch for one lucky trick or treater.

Children who get candy on Halloween can bring their extra candy to Greystone Smile Design, and that candy will be shipped to troops overseas.

Dr. Trenton Buchanan and Dr. Thomas Dudney are the dentists at Greystone Smile Design.

For every pound of candy a child brings, that child’s name will be entered once in a drawing to win an iPod Touch.

Candy will be accepted from Nov. 1-4, and the drawing will be Nov. 4.

“Ditch the candy, that’s what we’re saying. Visiting your dentist twice a year and brushing daily are great preventive measures, but doing away with excess sweets altogether would really give your teeth a healthy boost,” Buchanan said.

We Support Eastern Women’s Junior Committee!

Greystone Smile Design, the office of Hoover/Birmingham dentists Dr. Trent Buchanan and Dr. Tom Dudney, is proud to support The Eastern Women’s Junior Committee.  The Eastern Women’s Junior Committee (EWJC) of 50 exists because daughters of the Eastern Women’s Committee of 50 thought that what their mothers did for the community was a great way to get involved and help where help is needed.  EWJC brings young women together to serve the needs of the eastern area of Birmingham, Alabama.

The women of EWJC seek to give their time and skills as volunteers to make a difference in their community. Each year, EWJC votes for a charity to sponsor and holds local events to raise money to be given to that charity.

Last year more than 130,000 walkers from around the country joined in the fight against diabetes knowing that together we can Stop Diabetes. Each step they took and every dollar they raised helped the American Diabetes Association provide community based education programs, protect the rights of people with diabetes and fund critical research for a cure.
